Greek inspired lamb burgers on pita

A greek inspired recipe to switch up the traditional burger. Serve with vegetables or salad to balance the meal.
Ingredients
  • 500g lamb mince
  • 1/4 red onion, diced or grated 
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp mixed herbs
  • Salt and pepper 
  • To serve : 4 pitas, chopped tomatoes, cucumber, dill, a sprinkle of feta, and tzatziki

Instructions
1.
Combine all ingredients for burgers and mix by hand.
2.
Form four equal balls and then squish into a burger shape.
3.
Heat a large pan over medium high heat with a drizzle of olive oil if your pan isn’t non stick.

Add the burgers once hot and use a spatula or another pan to squish them down so they are as thin as you can get them.

Cook for about 3-4 mins and then flip and cook for another 2-3 mins or until cooked through to your liking.

Serve on pitas with tzatziki, cucumber, tomato and dill on top. Serve also with vegetables, I made sautéed courgette and red peppers with some paprika, mixed herbs and garlic powder.

Tip
For low carb : use a low carb wrap or lettuce wrap For low fat : omit feta or use low fat cheese and use low fat Greek yogurt in your tzatziki
